X-tra Special Events was created from the love of my sister, who has Down syndrome, and my desire to create more opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) to connect, have fun, and build meaningful friendships.

The “X” in X-tra has a special meaning—it represents the extra chromosome associated with Down syndrome and serves as a reminder of the inspiration behind our mission. Our yellow and blue colors are also a tribute to the Down syndrome community, making every part of our brand a reflection of the people and community that inspired X-tra Special Events

 

Today, we create fun, welcoming social gatherings for anyone with an I/DD—from holiday-themed parties and game nights to karaoke and more—where people can be themselves, make new friends, create memories, and feel like they truly belong.
